ADSI empowers Borno women and youths

In line with its focal mandate in empowering women and youths with employable skills for self-reliance and the possibilities of financial independence, ADSI reached out to women and youths in Borno State with a skill acquisition program targeted at two important skills: pasta production and solar panel installation.

The program, held from 15th of February to 21st of February, 2021, trained 52 women at three centers across the state; on how to make pasta. Also, it trained 31 youths on solar panel installation.

The skill acquisition program brought succour, not only to the beneficiaries, but to their families as well. This project in Borno was ADSI’s maiden intervention in reaching out to the less privileged, to empower them with skills that can guarantee them access into the economic value chain of Borno State and beyond.

The graduation ceremony for the beneficiaries of the skills acquired came up on 23rd February 2021, at Armani Event Center. The colourful event, graced by family and friends of the beneficiaries, as well as invited guests, was a joyous moment for the benefitting communities. Several dignitaries from the academic community and media witnessed the event and gave inspiring speeches to encourage ADSI’s kind gesture and remind beneficiaries of the great things that could happen to them and Arewa at large, if the skills acquired are put to good use. Certificates and start-up kits were also presented to the skilled youths and women.

That timely intervention in Borno, has within a short period of time, taken almost all the beneficiaries, off the streets of idleness. It is such commitment to bettering the lot of one another, that guarantees our collective progress, peace and unity.

ADSI’s noteworthy place in history is unarguable. You too can be a part of that history. Each month, every member of ADSI contributes a minimum of N2000 towards interventions like the one in Borno. Every month, communities are reached, women and youths in Arewa are empowered and opportunities are created to grant our region a competitive advantage in regional relevance. Come on board! You too, can make Arewa great!
